To do sport ...
Et’s dispel the myth: the sport itself is rarely enough to lose weight. To reach this goal, it must be associated with a suitable diet. Thinking that the practice of a sport will compensate a fat-rich diet is illusory. To burn a kilogram of fat, you will have to walk 140 km or to run 100 km! No matter what your favourite sport might be, its ability to burn your fat and to make you lose weight is very limited. So why do we say to people who want to lose weight to do sport?
When a diet is established by a professional to help you lose weight, your body is lacking energy. Indeed, your alimentation is no longer sufficient to cover its needs. Spontaneously, your body will get this energy by "burning" fat and muscle, i.e. by transforming adipose tissue and muscle proteins into sugar. A regular practice of sport will force the body to preserve its muscles and to be only burning fat to find the required energy. This is why sport and diet are complimentary and optimize your chance to lose weight and fat. Practicing sport will make you burn more energy, but above all, will prevent your body from consuming muscle rather than fat. Endurance sports are frequently chosen to follow a diet. Indeed, sports practiced without interruption for at least half an hour are those which allow the best process of fat consumption. For obese people, the sport must also depend on their articulations, particularly with regards to knees and hips. Pour ces personnes, la natation ou le vélo sont des sports d’endurance bien adaptés car ils soulagent les articulations du poids du corps. For these people, swimming or cycling are well-suited endurance sports because they relieve the joints of body weight.
